Hacking Hate week

Welcome to the Hacking Hate week! From Monday 7 to Friday 11 October 2019, the SELMA project is organising several actions to raise awareness against online hate speech and highlight the role of education in tackling this growing problem. Teachers, parents and carers, young people, policy makers, industry representatives and civil society organisations are invited to engage in these activities and join forces to hack online hate.

Each day of the week, we are unveiling a new box in which you will discover all the actions we have prepared around the topic of the day. The Drive change, hack online hate conference, a collaborative event open to everyone interested in hacking online hate, taking place in Brussels on Thursday 10 October 2019, is the highlight of the week – but many more activities are planned! We are publishing translations of the SELMA Toolkit, launching quizzes on hate speech, organising a webinar for teachers, announcing future SELMA activities, and much more!

Click on the boxes below to discover what is happening on each day and follow the conversation online with the hashtag #HackingHateWeek.
